This alternative to the Accounting and Business Applications diploma program includes the educational requirements for the Payroll Compliance Practitioner certificate. Students become proficient in using business software packages, including the latest Microsoft Office business applications as well as computerized accounting applications. For individuals without an accounting background, we have included a Financial Accounting module, which provides a conceptual understanding of accounting procedures and is a prerequisite for Payroll Compliance Practitioner subjects.

Students receive hands-on training in business analysis, database management, and accounting software used by Canadian employers. As a graduate, you are prepared with the skills required for a career in bookkeeping and accounting, including maintaining a full set of books, cash flow, budgeting, and implementing the most efficient accounting solutions for your employer or your own business.

A personal and professional development course concludes the program to assist graduates in returning to the workforce in a timely and smooth transition. The course includes job search strategies and interview techniques.

Certifications: This program will prepare the student to achieve MOS 2007 (Microsoft Office Specialist) We are a member of The Canadian Payroll Association (CPA), the national association representing the payroll community in Canada.
